What happened to September? We have less than a week left in a month that seemed to fly by. So, we decided this week to get a jump start on October and the events happening in and around St. Paul during the month. Mark your calendars now ― there’s sure to be something here that you shouldn’t miss.

Minnesota Wild!

Catch a Minnesota Wild pre-season game on October 1 at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild take on the Buffalo Sabres at 7 p.m. but gates open at 6. The rest of the month’s schedule looks like this:

  • October 10: Wild vs. St. Louis Blues
  • October 22: Wild vs. Columbus Blue Jackets
  • October 24: Wild vs. Anaheim Ducks
  • October 27: Wild vs. Edmonton Oilers
  • October 30: Wild vs. Chicago Blackhawks

St. Paul’s latest real estate market statistics are hot off the presses and, we must say, last month’s numbers are a bit interesting when compared to this time last year. Not a whole lot has changed.

Let’s take a look at St. Paul’s overall August real estate statistics and then we’ll break out some neighborhood stats.

St. Paul’s Inventory of Available Homes

Yes, the inventory of St. Paul homes for sale is still tight and homes that are in good condition in popular areas don’t remain on the market for long. There was no change in the number of homes listed this August from August of 2014. Looking at the month-to-month numbers, however, shows us a decrease from July to August of this year. In July 510 homes were listed and in August, only 449

For some, loft living just can’t be beat. There’s something about a completely open floor plan, exposed duct work and lots of concrete that just gets their blood pumping. If you’re among them, you may want to look at the homes for sale in Rossmor Lofts in downtown St. Paul.

The building began life in 1916 as a shoe and boot factory and then in 2002 it took on its current shape as residential lofts. Rossmor is home to 129 units, both studio and 1-bedroom. The large windows of yesteryear allow plenty of light inside the homes, and many of the other vintage touches remain as well.

The live/work studios are located on the upper floors of the Rossmor building and, as you can imagine, the city’s artists flock to them.
