We’re inching ever closer to those two giant holidays coming up in November and December. Before you know it you’ll be so busy you may just forget you have kids (I know, easier said than done, right?).
This might just be the ideal weekend to get some family bonding time in before the onslaught of the season’s errands hits so we’ve put together some fun things happening in and around St. Paul.
Kids love baby animals (grownups do too) so think about heading to the zoo to see all the babies that have been born recently. The zoo also has a hay maze set up and there will be a magician and music and stuff for the whole family. It happens Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Minnesota Zoo, 13000 Zoo Boulevard in Apple Valley.
Take in a Broadway musical that the whole family will enjoy: Mary Poppins at the Chanhassen Theatre. Saturday is the last day for the show and, unfortunately, it’s sold out but there are still tickets for tomorrow night’s show and you can buy them online here. Act quickly because they expect these to sell out soon.
Don’t you love those films that captivate not only the kids but Mom and Dad too? This nature documentary promises to be one of those. It’s “Humpback Whales” at the Science Museum of Minnesota Omnitheater. Some of the questions the researchers featured in the film will answer include why humpbacks are the most acrobatic of all whales, why they “sing” and where they go on those 10,000 mile round-trips they make each year.
There are showings on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Get details and purchase tickets online here. You can also watch the film’s trailer here. The Science Museum is located at 120 Kellogg Blvd. W. in Saint Paul.
