As we get closer to summer, the St. Paul events calendar is starting to look rather plump. There are two coming up next week, in fact, that we think you should know about.
The 4th annual Minnesota Monthly Grill Fest is happening the weekend after Mother’s Day (that’s this weekend, by the way), on both Saturday and Sunday, May 16 and 17 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
One ticket not only gets you into the event, but it also covers wine, beer samplings and food. And oh ― the food. All of your favorite grilled foods will be in attendance and you can learn from the best how to grill like a pro.
This isn’t a family event, by the way. You must be 21 or older to get in.
GrillFest is being held at CHS Field and tickets are $40 if you buy them online, here. If you pay at the door it will cost you $5 more.
Barbecue or “extreme comic book mayhem?” How’s a person to choose? Well, choose you must, because MSP ComicCON is happening the same weekend as GrillFest.
A long list of creators (more than 250) will be on hand this time around including Josh Blaylock of Devils Due Entertainment, Patrick Gleason, Gene Ha of Top 10 fame and more.
The kids will like the Nicoral Arkham carnival with Batman-inspired carnival games, free treats, and photo opportunities with the costumed characters. You’ll also be able to get in on the door prizes, grab bags and the costume contest.
Admission is $12 unless you’re age 9 or under, then you get in free. Oh, and you’ll get $1 off admission if you bring a can of food.
MSP ComicCON is May 16 and 17, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at MN State Fairgrounds. Learn more by visiting their website.
