The Spring 2015 Parade of Homes tour begins tomorrow, February 28th and two St. Paul area homes are featured. If you don’t have plans this weekend and are in the market for a new home, go check them out.

St. Francis

Nestled under an hour northwest of St. Paul, in the city of St. Francis, you will find #55 on the 2015 Spring Parade of Homes tour. If you’re looking for rural living in close proximity to big-city amenities, check out this home.

Built by Paul Emmerich Construction, this is one of the tour’s many Green Path homes, meaning that it has undergone rigorous testing and is a Certified Green Building.

Next to Rum River Park, this split-level home, unlike other newly constructed homes, sits on a fully landscaped lot. It contains 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 1,024 square feet of living space. Some of the features you’ll love included custom cabinetry, a center island and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, walk-in closets and vaulted ceilings.

What you’ll really fall in love with, though, is the price: $189,900.

West St. Paul

The second St. Paul area home on the Spring Parade of Homes tour is actually located south of St. Paul, in West St. Paul. McDonald Construction, Inc. built this home (#161) in the Weschcke Park area, across from the Dodge Nature Center.

This home features 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms in 3,224 square feet of living space. The great room includes built-ins and a fireplace; there is a formal dining room, mud room and a study.

The kitchen is dreamy (the focus of the Parade of Homes this year is kitchens) and, off of it, you’ll find a screened-in porch and patio. The owner’s suite features a spa-like bath, walk-in closet and a walk-through laundry.

This home is offered at $599,915.

The Twin Cities’ 2015 Spring Parade of Homes continues through March 29 and you can tour homes on Thursdays through Sundays from noon to 6:00 p.m. Admission is free, with the exception of the tour’s three Dream Homes – you’ll be asked to pay $5.00 to tour those.
