The 2015 Holidays in St. Paul Start NOW!

It’s the weekend! Time to get out and about in St. Paul and there’s lots of holiday-themed events from which to choose. We've chosen two we thought you might be interested in.

Holiday Lights in the Park

Remember how amazing holiday lights were when you were a kid? Even the Las Vegas Strip couldn’t hold a candle to the spectacle of riding through one of those neighborhoods where every family had the holiday spirit and their decked-out homes proved it.

It’s a good thing we live in St. Paul because it’s home to the best light display in the Twin Cities and it’s happening now through January 1 at St. Paul’s Phalen Park.

This year you’ll be able to drive through more than 60 twinkling, dazzling  light displays. The cost is $10 per car ($8 if you buy in advance) and you can buy tickets at the gate or in advance, here.

Holiday Lights in the Park is open every night from 5:00 until 10:00 p.m. at Phalen Park, 1615 Phalen Drive East in St. Paul.

Holiday Lights in the Park is a joint venture of the St. Paul Police Foundation and the National Electrical  Contractors Association (NECA) and this year it benefits Union Gospel Mission Child Development Center, the St. Paul Parks Conservancy and the St. Paul Police Foundation.

Let’s go Skating

Wells Fargo WinterSkate is open and waiting for you. If you’re new to the area, head downtown and you’ll find an outdoor ice skating rink with free admission! Open until February, open skate hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

No skates? No worries! You can rent them at the rink for $4 unless you use a Wells Fargo card, then there’s no charge for skate rentals. Landmark Plaza is located at West Fifth and Market Streets in St. Paul.
