Like in just about any major city, most neighborhoods in St. Paul have a fairly broad range of housing options that fit a variety of lifestyle needs and wants. But with that said, there’s usually a pretty defined sense of what each location has to offer, like high-rise condos in the heart of downtown or larger single-family homes further outside the central business core for example.
In St. Paul’s West Seventh neighborhood, however, that logic pretty much goes out the window so-to-speak and you’ll find perhaps the most diverse mix of housing in any of the primary St. Paul communities. From towering high-rises condos and stylish residential lofts to a high-concentration of historic single-family homes and bungalows that have unmatched charm and character, if you can’t find it somewhere in West Seventh, there's a fairly good chance you won't find it anywhere.
The Riverfront condo complex, one of our favorite buildings in all of St. Paul, is conveniently located just south of the Science Museum of Minnesota, while other highly-desirable options in West Seventh include the Historic Lauer Flats along Western Avenue, and as alluded to above some of the coolest wood frame and brick single-family homes you’ll find anywhere in town.
Living in West Seventh, also called West 7th by some, also provides home owners with some of the best amenities and attractions in town as well, including a riverfront trail/pathway for jogging and biking, the near-riverfront High Ridge Dog Park, and of course plenty of trendy restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques all throughout West Seventh's interior.
Simply put, West 7th near downtown St. Paul really is a true gem, and an excellent place to consider for your next home, condo, or loft.
