St. Paul, Minnesota is a city full of activities both indoor and outdoor. It can be hard to know where to being for newcomers to the city. For those that have lived here long, you may not have known about some of these great things to do around town. Minnesota History Center

The Minnesota History Center is the place to go to learn more about the state. They have exhibits showing Minnesota’s history including an exhibit on native rock singer Prince. Enjoy a tour, classes or presentations for the whole family.

Rice Park

Downtown St. Paul’s features Rice Park, home of artistic, theatrical and musical festivities during the year. It’s surrounded by landmarks such as the St. Paul Hotel, St. Paul Public Library, Ordway Music Theater and the Landmark Center.

Science Museum of Minnesota

One of the best attractions in town is the Science Museum of Minnesota. This fun museum has an 82-foot dinosaur, you can learn about life around the world in their Anthropology Hall and enjoy a movie in their Omnitheater’s dome screen. They even have a tornado in the Experiment Gallery that you can touch. It’s a very hands-on type of learning museum.

Como Park Zoo & Conservatory

Animal lovers will love the Como Park Zoo & Conservatory. It’s a Victorian-style park with a zoo, 18-hole golf course and a concert pavilion. There’s a small amusement park, outdoor pool, a carousel and paddleboats. Bike, walk, picnic and watch the animals in the cageless zoo.

Alexander Ramsey House

Check out the home of the first governor of Minnesota, the Alexander Ramsey House. It’s one of the most well-preserved Victorian homes in the country.

Cathedral of St. Paul

The Cathedral of St. Paul is a beautiful cathedral in St. Paul’s modeled after Rome’s St. Peter’s Basilica. Check out the 60-foot carved granite relief of Christ with the Apostles.

Wabasha Street Caves History Tours

The history tours around St. Paul are a huge attraction. Taking a walking tour or motor coach and check out the city’s gangster past from the 20s and the Wabasha Cave tours.
