If you enjoy racing for charity, competition or just for your own health, you need to find the right racing events in the St. Paul area. There are plenty held throughout the year and some are quite unique. Here's a look at some of the top races held throughout the area.
Fast and The Furry 8K & 5K9 - May
This annual race is held on Harriet Island every year. It provides the perfect choice for pet owners, as dogs are invited to enjoy the 5K9 with their owners. The 8K is a more competitive and timed run. The event also includes plenty of festivities for the entire family to enjoy.
Get Lucky - Around St. Patrick's Day
Known as one of the top races in the area, this Irish-themed race provides plenty of fun every year. You can dress in Green, wear a costume or just come out to run. It includes free beer at an Irish Pub and a party atmosphere.
Monster Dash - October
The Halloween themed run held every year is the Monster Dash. This is a 10-mile race and a Half Marathon with a pre-race costume party, free beer, live entertainment and plenty of parties after the race.
Polar Dash - New Year's Day
This winter 5K, 10K and Half Marathon is the coldest of the year. It provides hot chocolate at the finish line and a fleece/jacket as racer swag. The Polar Dash is one of the most popular held every year and many come out to prove the can handle the cold.
Skirt Chaser 5K - August
The women get a three minute head start in this race and the event will not only push your running limits, but also your dancing limits. After the race, you can enjoy mingling and partying with friends at the International Bazaar.
Women Rock - August
AS the largest women-only event in Minnesota, Women ROCK is a Half Marathon and 10K. It has some of the best race swag and includes post-race bubbly with live entertainment.
