Dayton's Bluff Achievement Plus Elementary
One of the things that Dayton's Bluff Achievement Plus Elementary student’s parents first notice is how welcome they are at the school. Administrators and teachers believe that parental involvement and support is vital to the children’s education so they’ve created an environment that makes parents feel valued.
Parents show their support by attending field trips, helping out in the classroom and by volunteering at the library, among other ways.
The school’s administrators don’t stop there, however. They also actively solicit volunteers from the community, especially those that wish to tutor the students.
The school serves 417 students in grades Pre-K trough 5. It is one of seven elementary and elementary/middle schools in The Bluff. The other six are:
- American Indian Magnet School (Grades K through 6)
- World Cultures Magnet (Grades K through 6)
- East St. Paul Lutheran (Grades Pre-K through 8)
- Trinity Catholic School (Grades K through 8)
- St. John Evangelical Lutheran School (Grades K through 8)
- St. Michael's Academy (Grades K through 8)
Dayton’s Bluff Elementary School’s staff includes a social worker, nurse, occupational therapist and a speech pathologist.
From here, students will attend Battle Creek Middle School and then Harding Senior High School, which is also located in the neighborhood.
